How is it just because it’s 2013 people are under the impression that some folks are too young to marry. Each person is different, each situation is different, and it should be treated as so. Some are under the impression that people who are too young to marry will mess up their lives, be unhappy, and/or not get what they desire out of life and ultimately become unsatisfied. Back in the days, couples got married at 18 and stayed married all of the time. It’s possible to grow old together, there are people still doing it today.
90% of marriage being successful is based on what your belief system is as it pertains to marriage.Who created marriage in the first place, let’s consort with Him and see how it should work and what we should believe about it.
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.” 19 Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name. 20 The man gave names to all the cattle, and to the birds of the sky, and to every beast of the field, but for Adam there was not found a helper suitable for him. 21 So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. 22 The Lord God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. The man said,
“This is now bone of my bones,
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man.”
For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. 25 And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.
Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
If you want to know how to operate your Mercedes-Benz why would you read a manual that’s written for a Buggie, or just not read a manual at all and make assumptions and estimated guesses about how the Mercedes Benz should operate? People often form their own opinions and facts based off of bad experiences they’ve had or what they have seen. This is not a wise way to form a doctrinal fact in reference to marriage.
When it comes to making new choices and setting certain boundaries because of bad experiences that we’ve had in our past this is wise, but when one says “I’m never getting married again because my last marriage sucked!” or, “I’m going to wait longer before I marry (knowing inside you are burning with passion) because last time I married too fast.” this is when you allow one bad situation to dictate how you govern the rest of your life. That leaves no room for faith, no room for miracles, and no room for God to do the impossible. Your setting up walls more so than boundaries and even God won’t bully you into accepting the blessings that He has for you.
So like I stated before, 90% of your marriage success depends on what you believe about it in the first place. Has life caused you to create a certain belief? That’s understandable, but I challenge you today to see the creator of marriage and find out why it was designed, what it was designed to represent, and how to make it last forever, because you know you can make it last for ever, just ask Keith Sweat.
